fifa15guide : Messi, Neymar Shines In Barca 3-0 Win Over Munich In UCL Semi

Lionel Messi Barcelona

Lionel Messi was at his best during Barcelona’s 3-0 trashing of Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions league semi-final fixtures on Wednesday.

While the score is not surprising, Barcelona made a statement that they are the best team in Europe this season and they are showing no signs of slowing down.

Messi almost single handed broke Munich’s heart with a clinical finish in the 77 minutes from his left foot. The Argentine striker beat Manuel Neuer again three minutes later.

No one saw Barcelona winning by a three-goal margin but Neymar put the final nail in the coffin in the final two minutes of the game with an assist from Messi who attacked a loose ball like a wild cat going after a lone mouse.

Credits to Pep Guardiola’s weaken side for holding off the South American trio for majority of the game. In the end Lionel Messi was just too good for the Germans.

“Messi is just superb,” ex-Barcelona striker, Thierry Henry, said. “He wanted to win that game and he did it again. You just give him the ball around the box and the rest is history. Maybe Bayern Munich didn’t approach the game in the right way in the first half, but in the second half there wasn’t much between the two teams. Then Lionel Messi decided to win that game.”

“I have seen him doing stuff in training and it is just amazing,” Henry added. “When he gets upset, he runs around the whole team. There is nothing you can do.”

“We tried to control the ball, but we knew they’d want it too. Our effectiveness in the last few minutes is what decided the game,” Iniesta said during a post game news conference.

“Leo Messi does things that nobody else does. We are lucky to be able to enjoy having him … I take my hat off to him once again. He makes us happy”.

“We know what football is like. This is a semi-final against Bayern. Nothing has been decided yet because there are still 90 minutes to go and we’ll have to get things very right in Munich if we want to play the final”.

“We shouldn’t start thinking that nobody can beat us. We have to keep doing this, because if we stop, there are other very good teams and when you least expect it they can beat you”.

fifa15guide : Toure Is Showing Signs Of Unhappiness At Manchester City

Manchester City’s midfielder Yaya Toure has been planing his next move as he is not sure he will remain at Man City after this season comes to an end.

Yaya Toure

Toure’s agent, Dimitri Seluk, has revealed that he will hold talks with other clubs regarding the player’s future after the season.

Toure’s current contract ends in the summer of 2017, and it’s believed that the Côte d’Ivoire international has become increasingly unhappy at Manchester.

“We have had different offers for Yaya but we must speak to Manchester City,” Seluk said.

“People think he will stay because of money but we don’t care about money. If Man City don’t want him – no problem.”

“I want someone to say that they want Yaya to stay at Manchester City. Yaya is a legend at the club. All the supporters like him, he’s helped them make history.”

At the start of the season, City seemed to be showing great promise in the Premier League and the Champions League, but now the team has fallen behind having lost four of their last seven in the Premier League. In addition to losing in Premier League, the former Premier League title holders faced a disgracing loss to Barcelona in their Champions League fixture.

With the teams lackluster performance, Toure might be considering to make a move more now than ever.

fifa15guide : Thierry Henry: Ronaldo Is The Real Hero In Madrid’s Victory

Sports pundit, Thierry Henry, is lashing out on Real Madrid’s striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez.

Chicharito hit the game winner for Madrid in their Champions League fixture against rivals Atletico Madrid today, allowing Real Madrid to advance to the semifinals. The Mexican striker being really excited for pulling a victory for his club decided to over celebrate, which aggravated Henry.

Henry insinuated that the celebration was over the top ‘like he had just won the World Cup’.

Hernandez individual moment of brilliance came within the last two minutes of normal time after a neat pass from Ronaldo. Henry believes that while Chicharito should be happy for his goal, the credit should be given to Ronaldo.

Henry told Sky Sports: ‘To be fair to him he doesn’t really play. He was given an opportunity tonight but we still don’t know whether he will play again.’

‘He had a couple of chances in the game. One on his left foot and then another on his right foot. But I can tell you, he needs to thank (Cristiano) Ronaldo tonight.’

‘I know he went on to celebrate alone and everything but he needs to thank Ronaldo, because for me he has to. It’s Ronaldo who chooses to change the course of the game.’

‘He (Ronaldo) should’ve passed the ball in the first-half but he didn’t, but he did in the second-half because he knew he needed to finish them (Atletico Madrid) there and then.’

‘That is for me Ronaldo’s goal. There is two minutes to go, he didn’t want to take that chance because he knows Hernandez is in a better position so you have to play that ball.’

‘Ronaldo gave him that ball so that goal is Ronaldo’s goal. At that moment he knows he cannot shoot so he doesn’t take the risk of doing something stupid or silly.’

‘He saw a guy in a better position, which Hernandez was, and he gave him the ball, so that is Ronaldo’s goal.’

‘What I don’t like is that he celebrates like he has just won the World Cup. It’s a tap in. Turn around and celebrate with Ronaldo.’

‘He knew he had to perform and he had a couple of chances to do it. Even the camera knew, the camera is on Ronaldo for a reason.’

However, fellow pundit Jamie Carragher believes that Ronaldo would have done the same if it was his late winner.

Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports: ‘It was Ronaldo’s goal in terms of what he did for the goal but Ronaldo is the worst in the world at things like that.’

‘He took a penalty in the final last year to make it 4-1, he takes his top off and becomes the picture the next day.’

fifa15guide : Barcelona’s €70 million Is Not Enough For Paul Pogba

Barcelona has made a €70 million bid for the French midfielder, Paul Pogba.

Pogba has made his name at Juventus and in Serie A as a talented young midfielder. After showcasing his skills as a powerhouse in the middle, Pogba has caught the attention of La Liga big name club, Barcelona.

paul pogba

Pogba was released from Manchester United on a free transfer to Juve and now the Frenchman is probably one of the most expensive player in the sport.

Barcelona’s €70 million (£50 million) bid was rejected by Pogba despite the inclusion of a clause that would see him “loaned back for a year, until June 2016″, per Sport:

Even though Pogba seems very happy at Juve, further reports indicated that the Frenchman would be making his exit come summer.

According to Football Italia, rumors has been circulating that Juventus has been in deals with Paris Saint-Germain’s, Edinson Cavani, and the only thing that could prevent this deal is the failure to sell Pogba. Il Quotidiano Sportivo also stated that an unnamed Juve director sent a text stating:

“We’ve signed Cavani, it’s all done, it’ll only fall through if we don’t sell Pogba.”

With the value of Pogba it will be difficult to sell the French midfielder for his real worth. Chelsea, United, City and Real Madrid are all vying for the young star this summer which could result in a world-record transfer fee.
