Theresa May has agreed a deal with the DUP that will give the minority Conservative government the support it needs to pass key votes in parliament.
The deal will see the DUP back the Tories in Commons votes, such as the Budget, Brexit and national security, as well as the Queen’s Speech later this week.

In exchange, there will be an increased £1billion for Northern Ireland over the next two years to spend on education, infrastructure, health and other measures.
After successful talks at 10 Downing Street, May and DUP leader Arlene Foster hailed the agreement between the two parties.
The prime minister said the DUP and the Tories ‘share many values’ and the agreement was ‘a very good one’, while Foster said she was ‘delighted’ with the deal.
The agreement was signed by Tory chief whip Gavin Williamson and the DUP’s Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, while the two party leaders, as well as Damian Green and Nigel Dodds, watched on.
Speaking outside Number 10, Arlene Foster said: ‘Throughout these discussions our guiding principle has been our commitment to acting in the national interest, in accordance with our shared objective of strengthening and enhancing our precious union.

‘In concluding this agreement, we have done so to secure our nation, building the prosperity of all and supporting our exit from the European Union to benefit all parts of the United Kingdom.’
She added: ‘Our aim in this negotiation has been to deliver for all of the people of Northern Ireland
‘The measures we are announcing will be to benefit all of our people.
‘They will boost the economy, invest in new infrastructure as well as investing in the future of our health and education sectors and a range of other measures.’
In a statement on the Conservative website, Theresa May said: ‘I welcome this agreement which will enable us to work together in the interest of the whole United Kingdom, give us the certainty we require as we embark on our departure from the European Union, and help us build a stronger and fairer society at home.’
As part of the agreement, both parties agreed to scrap Conservative manifesto pledges to change the pensions triple lock or winter fuel payments.
They will also meet the NATO commitment of spending 2% of GDP on armed forces.

Stormont’s annual budget for day-to-day spending is around £10billion, while the capital budget is around £1billion.
On top of the extra £1billion, the agreement will also see greater flexibility on the spending of £500million already allocated in the budget.

Who are the Democratic Unionist Party?
The Democratic Unionist Party is the biggest unionist party in Northern Ireland – that is, it is against Ulster becoming part of the Republic of Ireland.
They’ve effectively just replaced the Ulster Unionists (UUP) – but the two parties are anything but the same.
While the UUP is a relatively harmless centre-right party that has had a long-running relationship with the Tories, the DUP is far more conservative, particularly when it comes to social issues.
Here’s what you need to know about the Northern Irish party that is now within throwing distance of Westminster.
LINKS TO TERRORISM
Disturbingly, the party has strong historical links to Loyalist paramilitary groups – in particular the terrorist group Ulster Resistance, which was founded by people who ended up becoming prominent DUP politicians. The party’s former leader Peter Robinson, for example, was an active member of the terror group.
The group also collaborated with other terror groups, including the Ulster Volunteer Force, to smuggle deadly arms into the UK.
Although the party has since rescinded violence, this may seem a bit of a rich move from a party that attacked Jeremy Corbyn for his alleged links to former Northern Irish terrorists.
WOMEN’S RIGHTS – OR A LACK OF THEM
The DUP is notorious for being strongly opposed to reproductive choice – specifically a woman’s right to choose to have an abortion. This makes them the biggest anti-abortion party in the country.
This is why women in Northern Ireland either face a costly and incredibly stressful journey to England and Scotland to have an abortion, or are forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term.
SAME SEX MARRIAGE
The DUP are also known for strongly opposing same sex marriage. As a result, Northern Ireland still doesn’t have equal marriage – unlike all of its neighbours Scotland, England, Wales and the Republic of Ireland.
ACCUSATIONS OF RACISM
Last year, DUP MP Sammy Wilson was accused of racism after a member of the public said Northern Ireland should ‘get the ethnics out’ – to which he appeared to reply ‘you are absolutely right’.
The DUP is also infamous for pushing for creationism to be taught in schools on a par with proven scientific facts. Creationsim is the evangelical belief that Darwin’s theory of evolution is incorrect, and that humans were created whole in God’s image.
The party is pro-Brexit and backed the Leave campaign before the EU referendum last year.
Agent Mino Raiola has confirmed he and Gianluigi Donnarumma will meet with AC Milan to discuss a new contract following the goalkeeper’s participation at the Under-21 Euros, ending a day’s worth of confusion on social media which led to the player claiming one of his accounts had been hacked.
The coveted goalkeeper stated earlier this month he would not be extending his contract with the club, sparking an angry reaction from some Milan fans to both the player and Raiola.
After the news was announced, fans at the European Under-21 Championship threw fake dollar bills at the Italy keeper during a game against Denmark.
And on Sunday afternoon, Donnarumma tweeted his support for Raiola amid reports in Italy that he was ready to part company with his representative by writing: “#Donnarumma #Raiola Yesterday, today and tomorrow!”

But the 18-year-old later appeared to use his Instagram account to apologise for the “uproar” the tweet caused, and stated he would meet with the San Siro club after the U21 Euros to discuss a new deal.
“Today my tweet sparked a real uproar, which I did not wish to create, so for that I apologise,” the post said.
“I wish to reiterate my absolute love for Milan and its fans. Now all that’s in my mind is the national team, with whom I hope to give a gift to all the supporters.
“My promise is that, as soon as the [U21] Euros are finished, I will meet the club along with my family and my agent to discuss my renewal.”
His account was disabled soon after the message was posted, and Donnarumma returned to Twitter to announce it had been hacked, with Raiola also tweeting: “DONNARAIOLA x HATERS 1-0. What’s next?”
However, Raiola was back on Twitter to clear up the confusion not long after, finally confirming that he and Donnarumma would, in fact, be meeting with Milan after the tournament.
Raiola wrote: “Tweets’ between me and Gigi are tweets of friendship.
“After Euros we’ll meet Milan. Now Nazionale is important.”

Last week, Milan coach Vincenzo Montella visited Donnarumma’s family in an attempt to convince Gianluigi, who has been linked with both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, to stay.
Montella held talks with Donnarumma’s parents, and the player’s father, Alfonso, told La Gazzetta dello Sport he believed the situation would calm down.
“I hope that all the massive media interest in this ends soon,” he said.
“We parents are not influencing Gigio’s decision in the slightest — we just hope he gets what is best for him and what makes him happy.”

Manchester United are closing in on a deal for Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic and could sign the Serbia international before the end of the week, sources have told ESPN FC.
The 28-year-old, who returned to Chelsea for a second spell at Stamford Bridge in a £21 million transfer from Benfica in Jan 2014, has emerged as Jose Mourinho’s top target in his attempts to recruit a new defensive midfielder, with United being given no encouragement in their efforts to prise Eric Dier from Tottenham.
Tiemoue Bakayoko, Mourinho’s No. 1 option for the holding role, is expected to sign for Chelsea from Monaco — a move that will unlock the door for Matic to head to Old Trafford.
With the summer transfer window officially opening on July 1, clubs are likely to accelerate their business later this week ahead of the start of preseason training.
And with Chelsea confident of signing France international Bakayoko before flying to China for the first leg of their preseason tour, United are preparing to complete a deal for Matic, who could cost as much as £40m.
Mourinho has so far added just one player to his squad since the end of last season, with Sweden defender Victor Lindelof arriving at United from Benfica earlier this month.
The former Chelsea manager had been determined to have the bulk of his summer signings in place before taking his squad to the United States on July 9 for the start of preseason preparations.
But while Matic is a deal that United believe they can do before the flight to the States, they are still yet to make a significant breakthrough in their efforts to sign Spain striker Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
And efforts to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan have also hit a roadblock with the Italian giants demanding €55m for the Croatian winger — a figure regarded as too high by United.

Dom Dwyer and Kenny Saief will get their first opportunities to impress with the United States in July’s Gold Cup.
Bruce Arena released his 23-man squad for the CONCACAF tournament on Sunday, and new-U.S. citizen Dwyer and Saief, who last week switched his national team allegiance from Israel, are the most noteworthy additions.
Not in the squad, however, is goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez, who was included in the 40-man preliminary roster despite two days before stating his preference for Mexico.
Sources told ESPN FC earlier this month the 22-year-old, who is eligible to play for both the U.S. and Mexico, had begun the process of tying his international allegiance to the U.S., but he will not play a part with at the Gold Cup.
With Gonzalez out, D.C. United’s Bill Hamid and New York City FC’s Sean Johnson were selected along with Brad Guzan in goal.
National team stalwarts such as Christian Pulisic, Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley and Tim Howard were not expected to be included in the squad, and Arena’s list confirmed their exclusion, with the likes of Kelyn Rowe, Dax McCarty and Matt Miazga getting a chance to play alongside U.S. veterans Guzan and Alejandro Bedoya.

In development for nearly 3 years now by a team of only two people, Tale of Toast is an upcoming open world MMORPG with hardcore PvP mechanics that goes back to the first steps of the genre, when dying actually meant something. I’ve had the chance to try it out this weekend, and here is what I thought of it.
Everything starts with the creation of your first character (players being able to have up to three per account at the moment). The character creation system, while rather simple, was quite entertaining for me to toy with. Players are given a chibi character and are able to customize multiple characteristics, including hairstyle, hair color, the shape and color of eyes, and even the gender and color of the wisp that will accompany them throughout their epic.
One thing that I enjoyed is the fact that colors are not predetermined. Instead of having a set of colors to choose from, you can drag a color bar from right to left until you find one you like, adjusting the brightness as you see fit. The character creation is, however, limited to the choice of a gender, physical characteristics and a name. There is currently only one playable race (chibi humans), and Tale of Toast does not have classes per se.
Which brings us to the gameplay of this title. As soon as your character is created and logged into the world, you are free to roam the world and pick among the various available activities to occupy your time. While combat will be an obvious choice, there are also gathering Trade Skills like mining, botany or fishing, as well as crafting Trade Skills like carpentry, tailoring, blacksmithing, cooking, alchemy, among others, to choose from. There is no tutorial in the game at the moment, so you will be left to your own accords when it comes to figuring out gathering and crafting, although the community is quite eager to help new players and you can simply ask for information in the world chat.
From then on, the progression of your character will be determined by the activities you practice, and what you decide to use your stat and skill points on. Yes, hardcore fans of the genre can rejoice, Tale of Toast allows you to completely customize your stats build (both with points earned as you level up and through gear), and skills. The latter, however, still needs some work since all the skills currently available require players to put points in the “magic” stat. This is most likely for convenience at the moment since the game is still in Alpha, and the developers will most likely separate the skills available and assign them to the correct stat, so for now we’ll just have to make do. As you can see in the screenshot above, while my character looks like a mixed built, it is actually melee. I had to put 15 points into magic to gain access to melee focused skills.
And as mentioned above, Tale of Toast does not feature classes. The stat build choosen and armor worn are what will determine your role. "Tanks" will want stats in Defense and Health, "Archers" will want any combination of stats that include Ranged, while "Mages" and "Healers" will want their Magic stat as high as possible.
Trade skills, on the other hand, are already well implemented (although some improvements such as drop rate buffs would be welcome). Each trade skill has a specific tool assigned (with the exception of Botany that uses two, a shovel and a hatchet), and can only be used if you have the right tool equipped. Moreover, crafting will require to have the tool equiped, AND to be near the designated workstation. That means that you will want to carry a bunch of tools on your at all times, if you do not want to accumulate trips to the banker (although it may be safer to do so). Recipes also need to be bought for nearly everything other than the base crafts, which adds more depth to the Trade Skills (selling your crafts to earn gold and unlock more recipes). Moreover, players that decide to focus on trade skills will also receive experience points, allowing them to level up their characters, albeit at a somewhat slower rate. That way, even full-time miners and blacksmiths will have no issue defending themselves from attacks by other players.
Which brings us to the last point, and one of the main focus of the game, the PvP. The first town in the game, Brightwyn, is the only truly safe town of the game (although each town also has a cemetary where players respawn after dying). No one can attack you there, and you can’t attack anyone. Beyond that point however, and once you reach level 5, always consider the risk of being attacked. While the other towns and cities do have NPC guards that patrol to defend players from attacks, they tend to move about quite a lot and won't always be there to protect you. Regardless, its a deterrent, since attacking players in a town means taking the risk of losing everything you in your inventory. Players that are crafting should be especially careful as that leaves them vulnerable to attacks. I personally went back to Brightwyn whenever I crafted rare metals like mithril. The main incentive for players to PvP is that upon death, your character drops most (if you are attacked) or all (if you initiated the attack) of your inventory and equipped items.
Despite a few bugs that are to be expected with an Alpha build and various things that still need to be included/adjusted, Tale of Toast was a really entertaining experience, and I even found myself playing for more than 24hrs over this weekend. Definitely a game to keep an eye on.
Thanks to Stray for corrections

The beauty of virtual reality is that it allows you to become anyone or anything you can dream of, and a new VR experience from Sony Pictures and CreateVR gives users the chance to become Spider-Man.
To celebrate the release of the film Spider-Man: Homecoming in July, Sony released a VR version of Spider-Man that lets you don the superhero's costume, swing through the New York City using web shooters, and even battle Spider-Man's movie rival, The Vulture.
The experience is currently available at selected cinemas around the U.S. and will be available for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive starting on June 30. In the meantime, if you're not near one of the theaters with the VR pop-ups, you can still check the preview video above.
- Tim Cahill lines up for Australia at the age of 37
- With goals in three World Cups, Cahill has a knack for scoring on the big stage
- Cahill says he is fit and ready to contribute at Russia 2017
By Pete Smith with Australia
Tim Cahill has long been used to being written off. One suspects that is almost the way he likes it. Certainly it is a mentality that fits perfectly with an Ange Postecoglou-coached Australia who revel in the idea of rocking the traditional order of world football.
As a teenager Cahill was told he was too small to make it. A brief quarter-hour cameo for Samoa in a youth tournament as a 14-year-old delayed his debut for Australia until he was 24.
Three years ago, Cahill trudged off the pitch in Porto Alegre having scored one of the FIFA World Cup’s™ most spectacular goals the tournament had ever seen. Cahill’s career obituaries were written, and understandably so. After all he was 34, and modern football can be a young man’s game, But Australia’s greatest-ever goalscorer possesses a special mentality, one that is admired by many and matched by few.
Now three years on he is back at a major FIFA tournament, preparing to do battle with world champions Germany in the Socceroos’ opening match of the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017.
3 YEARS AGO TODAY ⚽️
Never stop chasing your dreams #FEARLESS @NBFootball @SeagateANZ @Seagate pic.twitter.com/tC9Z7NqTGb
— TIM CAHILL (@Tim_Cahill) June 18, 2017
Cahill, quite rightly, couldn’t be prouder of his achievement. “Being in this Confederations Cup was the first thing for me as a player to just get here,” he said. “I’m here now and for all us 23 players it is about contributing.
“My aim is to be at this competition and be ready for five minutes or 95 minutes. You have to be ready, if not you have no place here (at international level).”
The great survivor
The remnants of Australia’s ageing golden generation disappeared when Postecoglou assumed the reins. Cahill, however, not only stayed in the team but flourished.
“Timmy has been great since the moment I took over,” said Postecoglou. “He has embraced that leadership role. It keeps him young and as he says, it keeps him young, hanging out with the younger boys!”
“Because he has done it all at the highest level, the other players respond to that. Tim is here because of his ability, but he adds to that with his experience.”
It is 12 years since Australia featured at a Confederations Cup. Almost inevitably Cahill is the lone survivor from that Socceroos’ campaign which began with a 4-3 defeat against Germany.
Since then Cahill has played, and scored, in three World Cups. He was also a key figure as Australia won the AFC Asian Cup for the first time in 2015, earning their ticket to the Tournament of Champions in the process.
This is a man that knows how success can be achieved at international level. So does he have belief that Australia can make an impact at Russia 2017?
“Over the past two years I have seen all the players buy into a philosophy and evolve as footballers. When everyone watches us play they will really respect it, because they can see us playing football and taking a strong hold.”
Cahill currently has 97 caps and 48 goals, meaning two rare milestones are within touching distance.
It would take a brave gambler to bet against a man who invariably shines when the spotlight is at its brightest.
