fifa15guide | Tevez: I nearly signed for Atletico Madrid

The 32-year-old has admitted he was interested in joining the Liga side before eventually opting to return home to Argentina

Boca Juniors forward Carlos Tevez has admitted he was close to moving to Atletico Madrid when he left Juventus at the end of last season, but ultimately decided on returning home.

The Argentinian had played two seasons at Juventus, winning two Serie A titles and helping the club to a Champions League final.

Tevez had made no secret of his desire to return to Argentina, but said he was intrigued by the idea of playing for Atletico under compatriot Diego Simeone.

"[Simeone] called me and I was excited about the idea," Tevez told Marca.

"Playing in Spain is something that is pending in my career, but I could not say no to Boca.

"Last year the only offer I had in Spain was from Atletico, but before that [Real] Madrid expressed interest in me."

With five goals in 12 league games, Tevez's return to Argentina has proven a winner on and off the pitch with the striker happy to have been able to move back home with his family.

"My daughter Flor is 11 years old and it got harder and harder to say goodbye to grandparents, uncles, cousins," he said.

"When her grandmother came to Italy and had to go, it was very hard for my daughter."

It has not been all easy for Tevez, who had come into criticism for some of his performances this season, but he said he had to accept the bad with the good.

"It is normal, the press is the same with Cristiano [Ronaldo] or [Lionel] Messi in Spain," he said.

"When [their teams] lose they are seen as guilty.

"I do not hide and I know the rules of the game."

fifa15guide – TOTW Predictions – Week 29

fifa15guide - TOTW Predictions - Week 29After a string of successful weeks we come across a dreaded international TOTW and after the fiasco of last time I have decided to include international friendlies in the prediction. Headlining we have Rodriguez, Matuidi and Dier.

Last weeks score 16/23

Formation: 3-4-2-1 –  Part one: http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/11440474/

                                 Part two: http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/11440693/

 fifa15guide - TOTW Predictions - Week 29

Goalkeeper

Ciprian TătăruÅŸanu – GK – 75 OVR

The vast majority of international game weeks include the dilemma of who to include in goal. This is no different with a real lack of options available. Romanian stopper Tatarusanu is arguably the best of a bad bunch making a total of four saves to keep a clean sheet in a 0-0 home draw with Spain.

Defenders

Ciaran Clark – CB – 77 OVR

I would imagine that we will see at least three gold defenders included however that is a very hard task with not many standing out. Clark is the easy pick however after scoring the only goal in a 1-0 home win against Switzerland.

Nicolas Nkoulou – CB – 81 OVR

Although Cameroon failed to win their match Nkoulou late goal in level it at 2-2 means that they go to the top of their qualifying group. That alongside the fact that he is gold could well go a long way in the selection process. He is a bit of a punt however there is logic behind the selection.

Álvaro Pereira – LB – 76 OVR

Now if you felt that Nkoulou was a punt you have another thing coming. I have selected Pereira for an assist in Uruguay’s 2-2 away draw with Brazil. I am not very sure on this selection to say the least however there are very few alternate options available.

Midfielders

Sofiane Feghouli – CAM – 81 OVR

Algeria showed once again why they are one of the strongest sides in Africa with a 7-1 drubbing of Ethiopia. I expect two players from a possible four candidates to make the cut, the first of which is Feghouli who scored the first and third Algerian goals. I believed he played CAM which would make him quite expensive.

Blaise Matuidi – CM – 84 OVR

Matuidi was the main performer in one of the biggest games of the weekend. France came away as 3-2 winners when they traveled to the Netherlands with the PSG CM claiming both a goal and an assist which include an 87th minute winner.

Kamil Grosicki – RW – 75 OVR

The first of two Polish players included this week is Grosicki who scored and assisted twice during a 5-0 home win against Poland. Finland look to be a side in all sorts of trouble this season and considering that Poland didn’t even use Lewandowski this can be classed as a very poor result for them.

James Rodríguez – LW – 87 OVR

You could easily argue that Rodriguez played in the CAM role however it can be taken both ways and with EA specifically giving him a LM Colombian item last week I can’t see them then making him a cam for an international performance. He is included for his goal and assist during a 3-2 away win against Bolivia

Forwards

Cenk Tosun – ST – 77 OVR

Turkey managed to register a 2-1 home win against a weakened Sweden side, when I say weakened I mean a squad without Ibra. Tosun should be picking up the IF should friendlies be counted again after scoring both Turkish goals.

Nicolai Jørgensen – ST – 75 OVR

Talking of braces in 2-1 wins that is also exactly what Jorgensen managed during a 2-1 home win against Iceland. With the Danish striker being a gold I can’t see him missing out.

Islam Slimani – ST – 80 OVR

I mentioned that Algeria were getting two IF’s via my prediction and the second of those two is Slimani. He scored two of Algeria’s seven and would be one of the bigger names in the side. Alternatively we could see either Ghoulam or Mahrez as the other player.

Substitutes

Allan McGregor – GK – 74 OVR

Another keeper which is rather hit and miss now as is Scottish stopper Mcgregor. Scotland managed to upset the Czech with a 1-0 away win and a lot o that praise should be given to their keeper who made a total of six saves to keep a clean sheet

Gabriel Mercado – RB – 73 OVR

There were a lot of silver defenders I could have selected this week however because Mercado managed to perform in a big qualifying match I have opted to go with the Argentine over other potential options. He scored the winning goal in a 2-1 away win against Chile. This goal could well prove to be massive come the end of qualifying.

Tom Rogić – CM – 67 OVR

When Australia came away as massive 7-0 winners against Tajikistan there were always going to be a few contenders for this spot. Luckily that was narrowed down by the fact that half of them are not in the game and thus can’t pick up an IF. Burns with two goals and Giannou with four assists specifically. This leaves us with Rogic who scored twice as being the only real candidate left.

Michael Barrios – RM – 69 OVR

The MLS was another league which still played this week and with it arguably being the biggest league still playing domestically it is likely that we will see an IF. Barrios is the obvious option after scoring twice for Dallas in a 3-0 win.

PaweÅ‚ WszoÅ‚ek – RM – 67 OVR

The second Polish player to mke the cut from their previously mentioned 5-0 home win against Finland is Wszolek who scored twice and assisted another. I fully expect both Polish players to make the cut with them both being among the best options this week.

Hakeeb Adelakun – ST – 57OVR

It was looking like another bronzeless week again until Monday when Scunthorpe striker Adelakun was involved in four goals with a goal and three assists in a massive 6-0 home win against Swindon. I am without the Npower TOTW as things stand however I am certain that Adelakun will claim a place.

Natalio – ST – 68 OVR

Natalio, otherwise known as Poquet was the only player to find the back of the net three times this week which does make the selection process a lot harder however it should also make Poquet a certainty to be included.

Reserves

Eric Dier – CDM – 74 OVR

England managed a magnificent comeback against the world champions to see them turn around a two goal deficit to win 3-2 courtesy of a last minute Eric Dier winner. Obviously it is only a friendly so I am not going to be one of those “England are going to win the Euro’s” people however there were definitely positives to be taken form an English POV.

Hiroshi Kiyotake – LM – 77 OVR

There are two potential players from the Japanese game however with golds being hard to come by this week I just had to opt for Kiyotake who scored once and assisted another two. Yoshida is the other option who scored one of their goals in a 5-0 home win.

Susaeta – LM – 65 OVR

Also from the second tier of Spanish football we have Susaeta who assisted all three of Real Oviedo’s goals in a 3-0 home win against  Ponferradina. I am unsure as to how much league football will be included however if they are looked at I would be surprised to see Susaeta miss out

Stéphane Sessègnon – CAM – 77 OVR

Back to the golds now and we have a bit of a forgotten man in Sessegnon. At one stage he was lighting up the BPL each week however now he is on the fringe of WBA’s side. He seems to still have the ability after scoring three goals over two games for Benin this week. He is mainly included for his brace in a 4-1 win against South Sudan.

Bruno Fornaroli – ST – 71 OVR

Fornaroli looks set to pick up a SIF which will mean that he will be a gold. That will significantly help his chances in a week like this. I have selected him for his two goals and an assist on Monday morning. He did miss a penalty however from what I can tell he scored directly from the rebound so score or miss you decide.

fifa15guide | New Game Mode, Better Spectator Controls On The Horizon For Armored Warfare

Armored Warfare Reputation System: Upgrades Start Here

Obsidian Entertainment has published a mini-dev diary, where the team addresses some questions and suggestions from the Armored Warfare community. Most of the points covered are typical “we’re working on it”-type stuff, but there were a few that stood out.

The team is working on improvements to spectating, that would allow players to see exactly what their observed player — whether as a spectator or as a dead teammate — would see, such as zoomed in or SPG viewpoint. Performance is also brought up a few times, with the devs saying that the reason many locales don’t show the ravages of war is because every hole or damage to a building requires additional resources to render. Those planes flying overhead, though? They’re not going anywhere.

Most interesting, though, are allusions to a “new, experimental game mode” — specifically one that requires better AI — “that will be different from the content currently in the game.” As I found out during my trip to Obsidian last year, the team is clearly dedicated to its AI content and wants to introduce something akin to RPG-style stories, so perhaps this is what the AI is being upgraded for.

Blade & Soul Introduces Another New Zone on fifa15guide

blade and soul

Hot on the heels of the initial Silverfrost Mountains announcement, the Blade & Soul team has revealed an all new max level faction zone, Soulstone Plains. The new zone is designed to be a major source for Soulstones and Moonstones.

A level 50 faction area, similar to Misty Woods, the Soulstone Plains will offer players the ability to fight for their faction and earn rewards. Battles run throughout the day, occurring in phases. During the battle, players will fight for ownership of Soulstone mining drills in the middle of large fields. Once a faction takes over the drills, they will need to defend them. If the faction manages to defend their mining operation, they’ll earn rewards.

In addition to the main PvP activities, there are also a variety of dailies available in this area that reward Soulstones, gold, experience, and Faction Contribution Points.

Whitebox Interactive Stops Development Of Warhammer MOBA Dark Nexus Arena on fifa15guide

warhammer_dark_nexus_arena

Fans of Whitebox Interactive’s free-to-play Warhammer MOBA received some bad news today. The company’s CEO, Jonathan Falkowski, formally announced that development of Dark Nexus Arena is being stopped, and that its servers will be brought down on March 31.

The reasoning behind the cancellation, according to Falkowski’s post, is that the team just hasn’t grown enough to maintain support development.

Dark Nexus Arena launched into Early Access on April 24 of last year, so it made it almost a year before being discontinued.

The full announcement can be found on the Dark Nexus Arena site.
