fifa15guide : Chelsea’s New Addition Came At A Perfect

Chelsea’s new addition to the squad is aimed at fixing their rocky start. Since the beginning of the season, Chelsea has struggled to secure a point on the the stats sheet and has decided to change that by bringing in a new face.

Chelsea have been pursuing the Spanish winger, Pedro, for awhile now and has finally struck a deal with Barcelona, for €30 million.

“FC Barcelona and Chelsea FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Pedro Rodríguez for 30 million euros, of which 3 million are dependent on performance,” read a statement from Barca.

“The Club wishes to publicly express its gratitude to Pedro Rodríguez for his professionalism and dedication while with the Club, as well as to wish him all the best in the future.”

Pedro missed training on Thursday to finalize the move and fly to London to undergo a medical, for his new squad, Chelsea FC.

On chelsea’s official Instagram page Pedro was seen in a photograph with Spaniard teammate Cesc Fabregas.

fifa15guide : Mourinho and Chelsea Target John Stones Only to Meet English Homegrown Quota

john stone - everton -chelsea

Premier League champions Chelsea look to be struggling at the start of the current campaign. The Blues suffered an embarrassing 3-0 loss at the hands of a well bolstered Man City squad. Mourinho and co. have waged a bidding war over the summer to recruit Everton’s John Stones, but with such a tight race for the title, Stone’s arrival may only be a move to meet the English homegrown quota.

According to Sky Sports, Everton have turned down a third bid from Chelsea for highly-rated centre-back John Stones, which is reported to have been around £30 million. The Toffees have already stated that the youngster is not for sale, but Chelsea intends on making a final bid of £40 million for the 21-year-old defender.

Who wins in this deal?

Whatever the outcome of Chelsea’s interest in John Stones, Everton will be winners. If the Toffees manage to fend-off interest in the centre-back then they get to keep one of the most promising young players in the Premier League.

However, if Chelsea does keep upping their offer then the Toffees would make a massive profit on the youngster, who they signed from Barnsley for just £3million back in January 2013. A larger bid from Chelsea may make Everton re-consider their stance.

At 21 years old, Stones is a very promising young player. In fact, he is regarded as one of the best young defenders England has produced in recent years. However, Stones has made less than 50 Premier League appearances in his career.

If Chelsea does continue to raise their offers then the Blues will be paying a lot of money for a player with relatively little Premier League experience.

Poor start for champs

Chelsea have endured a lacklustre start to their Premier League campaign. Blues boss Jose Mourinho has tried to blame everybody but the clubs tea lady for their poor start to the campaign. However his team have simply just not performed well enough.

The Blues defence was exposed in the recent game against Manchester City and captain John Terry was sacrificed at half-time in favour of the more mobile Kurt Zouma. At that point City were winning 1-0.

In the end the substitution backfired, as the Blues went on to concede two more goals in the second half. It was certainly not the performance of champions against their predicted nearest rivals.

The performance and start to the season led to reports that the Blues are going to splash out big money to strengthen their squad before the transfer window shuts in January.

Everton could take advantage of Chelsea’s current situation and have every right to do so. John Stones is an Everton player and no doubt the Merseysider’s do not want to sell one of their brightest young stars. If they do in fact end up selling Stones then it will be for a massive fee.

fifa15guide : Messi Does The Unexpected

Barcelona defeated AS Roma 3-0 in a pre season fixture earlier today. However the highlight of the match was not the three brilliant goals scored by the Spanish giant but the clash between Lionel Messi and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

The four times Ballon d’Or winner lost his cool and attacked Roma’s defender on a stopped play. This is unlike the Argentine superstar to react with violence. It was reported that the two players had exchanged words which resulted in Messi head butting Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and grabbing his throat. The fight was immediately broken up by Roma’s defender Leandro Castan. At this point in the match had Neymar already put Roma under press by scoring the game opener for Barca.

Messi was lucky the referee decided to be lenient by only giving Messi a yellow card for his actions. Following the commotion, Messi netted the second goal for Barcelona followed by Rakitic’s third firing in from fully 25-yards into the top corner, which sealed the win at the Camp Nou.
