Over 130 players from around the globe have been upgraded in FIFA Ultimate Team based on their real-world performances.
Among them are three MLS players: MVP finalists Obafemi Martins and Lee Nguyen and San Jose Eathquakes Homegrown attacker Tommy Thompson.
Thompson’s rating shot up 12 points, the fourth-highest increase among the 130 upgrades. We figure the fine folks over at EA must have stumbled across the tremendous piece of skill:
Sounders star Martins saw his rating increase two points to 78, while Revs big boy Nguyen moved from a 71 to a 75.
The FIFA 15 Ultimate Team servers are down right now according to reports coming in from both Twitter and status update websites. The football game is played by millions around the world and this is prime time UK daytime, although that only counts for those not at work or school.
We first heard about FIFA 15 UT servers going down early on Feb 11, 2015, in the morning from Product Reviews readers. After checking the Down Today website, it’s also clear that problems are taking place that seem to focus on getting connected to EA servers in the UK at least.
Also, checking the official EA Sports FIFA 15 channel reveals EA servers are unavailable due to maintenance taking place today (Feb 11). It’s unclear if players in the USA are also impacted, but you can see the said tweet below in the screenshot.
Are you impacted by the FIFA 15 server maintenance today and if so, what country are you in when seeing servers down? Hopefully, this maintenance doesn’t turn into an outage for many hours, as we have seen in the past. Reported problems this week could also be a reason for taking servers offline, which may fix issues players had earlier in the week.
Update: The FIFA 15 maintenance is scheduled for 3 hours and the times are 9AM to 12NOON, GMT. You should notice the downtime on PS4, Xbox One, and last generation platforms. If the downtime lasts longer than scheduled, then share a comment below.
SINGAPORE – Singapore defender Safuwan Baharudin now features in popular football video game Fifa 15, after his loan move to A-League side Melbourne City.
Following an update earlier this week, the 23-year-old appears on the bench of the Australian side bearing the name “Baharudin”, which appears on the back of his jersey in the game as well. He is believed to be the only Singaporean player in Fifa 15.
With a rating of 56, he is the fourth-best centre-back in the squad, and can also play at right-back and as a defensive midfielder. His best attributes in the game are sprint speed, stamina and balance.
Safuwan made his highly anticipated A-League debut on Saturday, coming in to the Melbourne City starting line-up as a replacement for injured defensive midfielder Erik Paartalu. However, he was unable to prevent Melbourne City crashing to a 0-3 loss against city rivals Melbourne Victory, having been substituted after an hour.
On Safuwan’s performance, his coach John van’t Schip said: “Looking at him today… he was not afraid to challenge, he was not afraid to coach (provide directions to teammates), he wanted to have the ball; he was strong in the air defensively but also when we go forward.
“He’s a player we rate highly from what we have seen and we think he can still make big steps.”
EA Sports have confirmed the release of the latest round of winter transfers on FIFA 15 with the highlight being Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado joining up with his new side Chelsea.
Cuadrado moved to Chelsea on transfer deadline day from Fiorentina with Mohamed Salah going the other way on loan, another deal that has been confirmed.
Fans will be thrilled to finally get to play with Cuadrado who brings five star skills to the already impressive line-up that Chelsea possess.
He’s also got plenty of pace and it’s likely that many players will use him on the right wing in place of Willian although he could even play at right-back if you were feeling particularly adventurous.
Andre Schurrle’s move from the Blues to Wolfsburg is also in there as are a number of deals completed on transfer deadline day.
These include Sebastian Giovinco’s move to Toronto from Italian champions Juventus after his contract with the Turin giants was terminated early.
Also on the list are Robert Huth’s loan from Stoke to Leicester, Yann M’Vila’s return to Rubin Kazan, Darren Fletcher’s transfer from Manchester United to West Brom and Davide Santon’s loan back to Inter Milan from Newcastle United.
ZURICH (AP) — West Ham escaped being thrown out of the FA Cup after FIFA only fined the Premier League club on Wednesday for playing Senegal forward Diafra Sakho when he was deemed unavailable for the African Cup of Nations because of injury.
Sakho withdrew from Senegal’s squad before the African tournament began on Jan. 17, citing a back injury, but came on as a substitute for West Ham in its FA Cup fourth-round match against Bristol City on Jan. 25. He scored the winner in a 1-0 victory.
FIFA reprimanded Sakho and fined West Ham 100,000 Swiss francs ($108,000) — although the punishment could have been more severe for the English club.
The world governing body said West Ham had breached a regulation on releasing players for international duty, but wasn’t found to have violated a provision that would have led to the club having to forfeit the match.
“The question of further sanctions to be possibly imposed needs now to be dealt with by the entity responsible for the relevant competition, i.e. The FA, in application of its regulations,” FIFA said.
The FA said that Sakho was eligible to play in the match under its rules.
Bristol City said it is disappointed with FIFA ruling’s and is “considering its options.”
The Senegal Football Association complained to FIFA that West Ham said Sakho was “prevented from playing and traveling by plane” because of his back injury.
Senegal finished third in Group C at the African Cup and failed to advance to the quarterfinals.
“We have not breached any rules or regulations whatsoever,” West Ham manager Sam Allardyce said last week. “I am extremely disappointed in Senegal’s reaction.”
We have just hours to go until the January transfer window shuts on Monday evening. Compared to other years there has not been much activity, but the big talking point at the moment seems to be revolving around Juan Cuadrado’s transfer to Chelsea FC.
The highly rated midfielder is rumored to be on his way to London, but only if current midfielder Andre Schurrle moves to German side Wolfsburg.
Assuming the move does go through, we can give FIFA 15 gamers an exact heads-up on the type of player that Chelsea has just bought or could buy in the Summer if the move this week doesn’t go through.
At the moment, Cuadrado is rated an 83 in the game by default. He hasn’t received any in-form cards yet during the season, but he is one of the handful of players that possesses 5-star skill moves in the game which is always nice of course.
We’ve picked out a brief, but very useful Juan Cuadrado FIFA 15 review for you to check out. If he does make the move to Chelsea then this will definitely serve you well.
This guy has blistering pace, so would you like to see him in Chelsea colors on FIFA 15? Let us know your last minute expectations for the ongoing transfers.
With FIFA 15 launching worldwide this week, many of you will be looking for those high potential players that could make or break your managerial career in Career Mode.
Career Mode is back this year in full effect, with the Global Transfer Market taking on a bit more of a refined look.
If you played last year, you will be able to select for your scouting group to be some of the best in the business and you will have four scouts at your disposal from the start, with a full list of pre-scouted targets to launch inquiries in to and scout further.
You are also able to search by last name again, like in iterations prior to FIFA 14, which allows you to find that individual player you want to add to your team, rather than having to flip through the list of players on each team.
In this article, you’ll find a list of players—all rated around 75 or below, with some exceptions—who have high potential ratings (84 or above), who, if you buy them quickly (usually within the first season or so), could take your club to the next level in the span of a few seasons. They are all under the age of 21 at the time of the publishing of this article.
The ratings shown are provided by SOFIFA and tabulated through computer simulation. So, if you heavily favor a player or really just find them easy to play with and put them in your squad week-in and week-out, they will grow beyond the potential rating shown here.
